State Bank of India (SBI) has released a massive recruitment notification for the financial year 2026. The bank is inviting applications for the post of Circle Based Officer (CBO) across various circles in India.

SBI CBO Vacancy 2026 (Circle-Wise)

SBI has released 2273 seats. The vacancies are divided into Regular and Backlog categories.

Category-Wise Breakup:

1. General: 852
2. OBC: 592
3. EWS: 200
4. SC: 327
5. ST: 302

Eligibility Criteria (As of 31.12.2025)

Before paying the fee, ensure you meet the specific requirements for the CBO post.

Educational Qualification

1. Must be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University in India.
2. Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Central Government are also valid.

Experience (Most Important)

1. Unlike the PO exam, CBO requires experience.
2. Minimum 2 Years of experience (as on 31.12.2025) as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank (RRB).

Local Language Rule

1. Candidates applying for a specific circle must study the Local Language (Reading, Writing, and Understanding) in 10th or 12th standard.
2. If you have the certificate, the Language Test will be waived.

Age Limit

1. Minimum Age: 21 Years
2. Maximum Age: 30 Years
3. Cut-off Date: Your age is calculated as of 31st December 2025. (Born between 02.01.1996 and 01.01.2005).

Age Relaxation:

1. SC/ST: +5 Years
2. OBC (NCL): +3 Years
3. PwBD: +10 to 15 Years

Selection Process (Exam Pattern)

The selection for SBI CBO involves three stages. There is NO Prelims exam; there is only one online test.

1. Online Computer Based Test (CBT):

1. Objective: 120 Marks (English, Banking Knowledge, General Awareness, Computer Aptitude). Time: 2 Hours.
2. Descriptive: 50 Marks (Letter Writing & Essay). Time: 30 Minutes.
3. Screening: Verifying documents and experience.

3. Final Merit List: Written Test (75% Weightage) + Interview (25% Weightage).
