AIIMS NORCET 10 Exam 2026: Notification PDF, Apply Online for 3000+ Nursing Officer Posts

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has officially announced the schedule for NORCET-10 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test).

The exam is scheduled for April 2026, which means you have very little time to prepare. Whether you are a fresh B.Sc graduate or a GNM diploma holder with experience, this exam is your gateway to a central government job with a salary package of over ₹70,000 per month.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

The eligibility rules for NORCET are strict. Please check if you fit into one of these two categories:

1. Education Qualification

1. Category A (B.Sc Nursing):
2. B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized Institute/University.
3. OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
4. Registration: Must be registered as a Nurse & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council.
5. Experience: Nil (Freshers can apply).
6. Category B (GNM Candidates):
7. Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM).
8. Registration: Registered as a Nurse & Midwife.
9. Experience: Mandatory 2 Years of Experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.

2. Age Limit (As of 16 March 2026)

1. Minimum Age: 18 Years
2. Maximum Age: 30 Years

4. OBC: 3 Years (Upto 33)
5. SC/ST: 5 Years (Upto 35)
6. PwBD: 10 Years

Application Fee

You can pay the fee using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.

Note: SC/ST candidates who appear in the exam will get their fee refunded after the results.

Exam Pattern: Prelims vs Mains

Since last year, AIIMS conducts NORCET in two stages. You must clear Stage 1 to sit for Stage 2.

Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (Qualifying Only)

1. Focus: Screening candidates. Marks are not counted for final rank.
2. Duration: 90 Minutes.
3. Total Questions: 100 MCQs (20 GK/Aptitude + 80 Nursing).
4. Negative Marking: 1/3rd deduction.
5. Passing Marks: 50 Percentile (UR), 45 (OBC), 40 (SC/ST).

Stage 2: Mains Exam (Decides Rank)

1. Focus: Clinical skills and scenario-based nursing knowledge.
2. Duration: 180 Minutes (3 Hours).
3. Total Questions: 160 MCQs (Entirely Nursing syllabus).
4. Format: The paper is divided into 4 sections of 45 minutes each. You cannot switch between sections once time is up.

Salary Structure

This is why everyone wants this job! The post of Nursing Officer is a Central Government job.

1. Pay Level: Level 7
2. Pay Scale: ₹44,900 - ₹1,42,400
3. Gross Salary: Approximately ₹75,000 - ₹80,000 per month (depending on the city, including DA, HRA, Nursing Allowance, and Uniform Allowance).
