The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has officially announced the schedule for NORCET-10 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test).

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
The eligibility rules for NORCET are strict. Please check if you fit into one of these two categories:
1. Education Qualification
- Category A (B.Sc Nursing):
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized Institute/University.
- OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Registration: Must be registered as a Nurse & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council.
- Experience: Nil (Freshers can apply).
- Category B (GNM Candidates):
- Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM).
- Registration: Registered as a Nurse & Midwife.
- Experience: Mandatory 2 Years of Experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.
2. Age Limit (As of 16 March 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Age Relaxation:
- OBC: 3 Years (Upto 33)
- SC/ST: 5 Years (Upto 35)
- PwBD: 10 Years

Exam Pattern: Prelims vs Mains
Since last year, AIIMS conducts NORCET in two stages. You must clear Stage 1 to sit for Stage 2.
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (Qualifying Only)
- Focus: Screening candidates. Marks are not counted for final rank.
- Duration: 90 Minutes.
- Total Questions: 100 MCQs (20 GK/Aptitude + 80 Nursing).
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd deduction.
- Passing Marks: 50 Percentile (UR), 45 (OBC), 40 (SC/ST).
Stage 2: Mains Exam (Decides Rank)
- Focus: Clinical skills and scenario-based nursing knowledge.
- Duration: 180 Minutes (3 Hours).
- Total Questions: 160 MCQs (Entirely Nursing syllabus).
- Format: The paper is divided into 4 sections of 45 minutes each. You cannot switch between sections once time is up.
Salary Structure

- Pay Level: Level 7
- Pay Scale: ₹44,900 - ₹1,42,400
- Gross Salary: Approximately ₹75,000 - ₹80,000 per month (depending on the city, including DA, HRA, Nursing Allowance, and Uniform Allowance).
